Hey Guys!
I've been meaning to post about Dior Matte Bronzing Powder in #003 Amber Matte for quite some time now, but put it off because the first time I wrote a review, I somehow deleted my entire post because I was unfamiliar, not to mention working too fast, with the new blogger interface. Now that I have given my rage enough time to settle, I figured I would re-write my review from scratch. In fact, these photos are so old that they still have "cherylsbeautyblog" watermarked on them. Now that the warm weather is finally here, I thought it would be the perfect time to review this bronzer.

Review:
Before I found Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, I used Dior Bronzing Powder in #003 Amber Matte. I decided to go with #003 versus the other 3 shades (#001 Healthy Matte, #002 Honey Matte, #004 Spicy Matte) because they were either too light (#001, #002) or too dark (#004). Amber Matte is the perfect bronzer for those with medium-tan skin tones (NC30-40) if you are looking for a very subtle bronzed effect. I personally prefer how dark my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil is as it is far more easier to work with. For the days when I want an effortlessly sun kissed glow, I reach for my Dior. I think those with fairer skin tones could also pull off #003 as it is very subtle on my skin tone and with a light hand, could be used also on lighter skin tones. Colour wise, Dior Amber Matte leans on the orange-brown side whereas Too Faced is a rich brown. Typically, I steer clear of orange-brown shades as I fear it could make me look like an Oompa Loompa. Amber Matte is one of those bronzers that I can't overdue so my fear of becoming an Oompa Loompa will not transpire. I also love that the formula contains SPF 20 and is water-resistant. This is the perfect bronzer for summer and to throw on before heading to the beach! Due to the water-resistant formula, this product is extremely long-wearing. It holds up all day and doesn't come off patchy or fade. The product description says this is ideal for normal and combination skin, but I have dry skin and it works just fine for me.

As with all Dior products, the packaging is well crafted and elegant. I love the compact case design and the large mirror inside. The compact also comes with a velvet sleeve to hold the compact when not in use or for travel. Even the embossing on the actual product is nice. I try and steer clear of where it says "Dior" so the bottom right corner doesn't get much love. Is it weird that I try not to ruin part of the design when my makeup products have a design embedded in them? I always stick to one half so that I don't ruin the other. Let me know if there are more of you out there!
I liked Amber Matte, but found I wanted a deeper colour so I went searching for a new matte bronzer, and ended up purchasing and loving the Too Faced bronzer. I'm glad I have both matte bronzers in my collection because I find my Too Faced one is good for nights out, or when I'm quite tan and I like my Dior Matte Bronzer for during the day, heading to the pool/beach or when I want a more subtle glow to my skin. Currently my favourite combination is using Dior Amber Matte in the hollows of my cheeks and MAC Crew Highlight Powder, from the Hey, Sailor! Collection, on the apples of my cheeks. MAC Crew Highlight Powder gives a beautiful, lit from within glow to the cheeks that perfectly compliments the subtle bronzing effect of Amber Matte.
