FOODTRIP(126): Shizen Ramen

Been seeing Shizen Ramen for months now and was so curious as to what this ramen house offers. I was planning to dine here a few times but there’s place is always full whenever I pass by.

Good thing, a few days ago, finally went here and there weren’t many customers around.

Shizen Ramen is one of the newest ramen house in Marikina located at Bayan-Bayanan Avenue in Marikina Heights, Marikina City. Place isn’t hard to find though a bit tricky to look for when you’re not familiar with the place. Coming from Cubao/Katipunan/Bayan Marikina, I suggest riding a jeepney/fx with SSS/Parang Molave signage and asked to be dropped at Meralco. Just look for the gas station near Meralco and walk straight. Shizen Ramen is just 1-2 blocks away.

Place is a bit small with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to dine outside since it’s a bit hot inside. There were Japanese designs seen in the place though I think they needed more Japanese feels with the place.

Chasyu Ramen (Php179)

“4pcs Chasyu, Wakame, Spring Onion, Egg”

-I was just wowed when I saw how HUGE their servings for the ramen. JAnyway, their Chasyu Ramen is very tasty (though not that creamy) as well as the pork included. The Chasyu/pork was very thick but soft and easy to chew. The noodles used were thick and it was sooooo GOOOD !!

Yakuza Ramen (Php189)

“Beef strip, Mushroom, Tofu, Beansprouts, Chili”

-HUGE servings again. I think this was more tasty and exciting as compared to the Chasyu Ramen as it has a rich taste and the spicy flavor really adds up to its goodness. Though I think both really tastes differently good J

3pcs Gyoza (Php80)

-Their gyoza were thick, huge and VERY TASTY. (As in di ka talaga tinipid kasi siksik ung flavors/lasa ng gyoza nila). But I find it disappointing that it was only 3 pcs gyoza given the price L

Overall, we really had a great time dining here and the two ramen we had were REALLY GOOD. It was good, rich in flavors and that HUUUUGE servings though JThey’re a bit underrated (haven’t seen a review about their restau) so I think this ramen house really deserves a shout out and recognition since they deserve such.

If you want good quality and authentic tasty ramen in Marikina, this is definitely a place to be J
